Self‑Adhesive (Cohesive) Tape

Self‑adhesive tape adheres to itself rather than the skin, making it suitable for light compression and short‑term support. It is commonly used to manage mild swelling, secure dressings, or provide temporary joint and soft‑tissue support during training and recovery. Its ease of removal makes it particularly suitable for veterinary use, as the self‑adhesive properties prevent it from sticking to fur, reducing discomfort during application and removal.

Rigid Sports Tape

Rigid tape is non‑elastic and designed to limit excessive joint movement. It is commonly used in injury prevention and post‑injury management, particularly for the ankle, wrist, extremities. By restricting range of motion, rigid tape provides mechanical stability and reduces stress on vulnerable structures during high‑intensity activity or return‑to‑sport phases.

Hook Grip Tape

Hook or grip tape is used to enhance friction between the hand and sporting equipment. It is commonly applied in strength training and equipment‑based sports to improve grip security, reduce hand fatigue, and maintain control during repetitive or high‑load movements. Its primary function is performance enhancement rather than injury support.

Pre‑Wrap Tape

Pre‑wrap is a non‑adhesive foam layer applied directly to the skin before rigid or adhesive taping. Its purpose is to minimise skin irritation, manage sweat, and improve overall comfort during prolonged or frequent taping. It is particularly beneficial for individuals with sensitive skin or regular taping requirements.
